Earth911.com is excited to welcome Gloria Dawson to its writing staff. As Photo and Web Editor at The Daily Green and Hearst Digital Media, Gloria is well-versed in all things eco.
Originally from Long Island, N.Y., Gloria attended college in Boston and has worked at Seventeen and Allure magazines before joining The Daily Green as its first employee.
She loves volunteering, cool green urban projects and taking, finding and Photoshopping amazing photos. Gloria was introduced to "green" as an elementary school student at The Waldorf School of Garden City, where composting organic lunch scraps was the norm.
Today, Gloria continues to practice what she writes both at work and in the home. Outside of her daily eco-routine, Gloria also writes a blog about living in East Harlem.
Gloria's first series for Earth911.com will be Cooking For Compost, a collection of four articles with easy recipes for a truly waste-free breakfast, lunch and dinner.
For even more eco-reads, Gloria gave us the scoop on her personal favorites she has written for The Daily Green:
