1. Be ready with reusables
Single-use products are especially tempting when we’re away from home. But resist the urge to hit the vending machines by packing your own snacks and beverages in reusable containers. Added bonus: You’ll also skip paying $3 for a bottle of water, leaving more spending money for your vacay.
Our tip: Pack a reusable survival kit, including items like water bottles, food containers and reusable silverware, to banish single-use items from your beach trip. Put bottles filled with water, juice or sports drinks in the freezer for a few hours before hitting the beach to help drinks stay cold, and keep all perishable snacks in a cooler with ice to avoid spoilage.
Reusable beverage dispensers are also great for keeping the whole family hydrated without the waste. Simply pack your drink dispenser full of ice before filling with water for cool, refreshing sips all day.
